All to play for as BKA season nears the end

With two scheduled rounds remaining, there is still all to play for in the 2025 Sectus Technologies Barbados Karting Association (BKA) Championship. Round six of seven will run off at Bushy Park Barbados on Sunday (October 19), with the final four weeks later.

  There’s a maximum of 200 points still on the board if a driver can complete a clean sweep of four race wins each time out, something achieved twice this year by Calem Maloney, who leads the Easykart 125cc class, also the overall standings, with 17 wins in 20 races to his credit.

Champion returns for Caterham Caribbean Cup

James Emson, one of three category Champions at the inaugural Caterham Caribbean Cup two years ago, is among drivers confirmed for CCC25 at Bushy Park Barbados in December. After Caterham Motorsport’s UK season ended at Silverstone over the first weekend of this month (October 4/5), teams turned their attention to preparing cars for shipping across the Atlantic.

Positive reaction as MudDogs “level the playing field”

Multiple Champion Leslie Alleyne has applauded moves to update the methods of setting navigational rallies pioneered in last Sunday’s (October 8) Savvy on the Bay October Safari. With navigator Chris O’Neal, Alleyne overcame the opposition - and the weather - to claim their third win in the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) 2025 Chefette MudDogs Safari Championship.

Maloney & Matthews win Bushy Park Kart Enduro

Calem Maloney and Darren Matthews won the island’s first-ever ‘Arrive & Drive’ Karting Enduro at Bushy Park on Saturday (September 27). After 109 laps, six changes of lead and two-and-a-half hours of racing, they crossed the just 45 seconds ahead of Mark Thompson and his nephew Blake in the Cole Clarke Racing (CCR) Three Hours.

Podium places for female racers at Bushy Park

Two female racers stood on the end-of-day podiums for the first time at Sunday’s (September 21) fifth round of the Barbados Karting Association’s (BKA) Sectus Technologies Championship. Hailey Brathwaite and Ava Mayers were the third-placed points-scorers in their respective classes.

Female karters in the mix at BKA round five

The island’s budding trio of female kart racers will face off against their male counterparts once again on Sunday (September 21) as the Sectus Technologies Barbados Karting Association (BKA) Championship passes the half-way mark. Round five is scheduled to start at 8.00am at Bushy Park Barbados.

Dates announced for BCIC Rally Barbados 2026

The Barbados Rally Club (BRC) has announced the dates for the 36th edition of its premier event. Subject to final ratification by the Barbados Motoring Federation (BMF), BCIC Rally Barbados 2026 will run from Friday to Sunday, May 29-31, with The Auto & Rally Show and King of the Hill, the final shakedown and seeding event, the previous weekend (May 23/24).

  The entry form for BCIC RB26 will go live on the official web site - rallybarbados.net – at noon local time on Wednesday, October 1, 5.00pm in the UK and Ireland; the five-month entry window will close on March 1, 2026.

Scenic challenge for MudDogs September Safari

A scenic six-hour route passing through nine of the island’s parishes is ahead of crews in Sunday’s (September 14) Savvy on the Bay MudDogs September Safari. Using some trails which have rarely, if ever, been used before, along with some novel methods of navigation, completing the 110 kilometres in the time allowed will present competitors with a tough challenge.

Thompson leads BRC Championship ahead of final round

After six drivers have variously shared the overall lead of the Barbados Rally Club (BRC) Driver’s Championship this season, Kurt Thompson will head into next month’s final round as the first exclusive leader of the standings. In a very strong year for local rallying, more than 80 drivers have scored points, with the title to be decided at the BRC Winter Rally on October 26.

Gregg wins twice in rain-affected BRC Double Header

BCIC RB25 winner Kyle Gregg continued his strong run of results with victory in both directions of the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) Summer Sprint on Sunday (August 24). The Jamaican extended his lead in the BRC 4wd Championship and climbed from sixth to equal third in the Champion Driver title chase, with only November’s Winter Rally to go.
