Youngster Ava Mayers rewrites BKA history books

With three race wins in the Easykart 60cc Cadet class in Sunday’s (April 26) third round of the 2026 Sectus Technologies Barbados Karting Association (BKA) Championship, 11-year-old Ava Mayers wrote her name into the BKA’s Roll of Honour.

She was top 60cc raceday points-scorer, and overall too, the first female karter to achieve this in the Club’s 40-year history. While successful female racers have topped their class on raceday - Kayleigh Catwell did twice when she finished second to Calem Maloney in 100cc in 2018 – overall raceday top-scorer is a BKA female first.
