Barbados Motoring Federation hails Monaco winner Maloney

The Barbados Motoring Federation (BMF) has hailed 17-year-old Barbadian driver Zane Maloney’s victory in Sunday’s (May 23) round of the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine – certified by FIA supporting the Monaco Grand Prix. Having finished second behind his French team-mate Isack Hadjar on Saturday, Maloney led a stunning podium lockout for R-ace GP outfit, with Hadjar second and fellow-countryman Hadrien David third.

Revised dates, web site from Barbados Motoring Federation

The Barbados Motoring Federation (BMF) has today (May 12) published a provisional calendar for the rest of 2021 to allow competitors time to prepare, while discussions continue with Government bodies to clarify when spectators might return. Having made practical use of the down time caused by the Covid 19 pandemic, the Federation has developed a new web site, which is also launched today.

SR1 Cup added to Radical Caribbean Cup for 2022

The organiser of the Radical Caribbean Cup (RCC) has confirmed that it is to expand its regional championship in 2022 and include the ‘entry level’ SR1, to complement the SR3, which has been the sole chassis raced in the category since it was established in 2015; there will be two separate championships going forward, with a Champion crowned in each at year-end.

JUNCOS RACING ADDS KYFFIN SIMPSON TO 2021 INDY PRO 2000 LINE-UP

After announcing his return to the FR Americas Championship last week, Bajan driver Kyffin Simpson today confirmed he will double up on race programs for 2021, making his debut in the 2021 Indy Pro 2000 Series Presented by Cooper Tires with Juncos Racing. Simpson will compete in nine events this season with the reigning Indy Pro 2000 Champions.

Mark Thompson is the BPMSI 2020 Champion Driver

Mark Thompson is Bushy Park Motor Sports Inc’s (BPMSI) 2020 Champion Driver. In a season shortened to two race meets by the coronavirus pandemic, he won Group 2/Class 1 in five of the six races in his Glassesco/NKM Clothing/Bio Beauty Toyota Starlet, his only DNF coming in the final race of the season. His year-end total was 118 points, beating Andre Walcott, twice the Champion Driver in the past three seasons, to the overall title by 27 points, with Stuart Maloney third, another 13 points in arrears.
