New names on Rally Club’s 2025 Roll of Honour

Six new names are listed among the 22 overall and class champions confirmed today (Friday) by the Barbados Rally Club (BRC) following a successful 2025 season. More than 230 competitors regularly participated in the Club’s varied motor sport disciplines, with a record number of 70 local crews starting its premier event, BCIC Rally Barbados.

Multiple Champion Leslie Alleyne has applauded moves to update the methods of setting navigational rallies pioneered in last Sunday’s (October 8) Savvy on the Bay October Safari. With navigator Chris O’Neal, Alleyne overcame the opposition - and the weather - to claim their third win in the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) 2025 Chefette MudDogs Safari Championship.

Scenic challenge for MudDogs September Safari

A scenic six-hour route passing through nine of the island’s parishes is ahead of crews in Sunday’s (September 14) Savvy on the Bay MudDogs September Safari. Using some trails which have rarely, if ever, been used before, along with some novel methods of navigation, completing the 110 kilometres in the time allowed will present competitors with a tough challenge.

Alleyne and O’Neal extend June Safari victory run

Leslie Alleyne and Chris O’Neal won last weekend’s (June 28/29) Chefette June Safari, amassing 1175 penalties in their POD Store/Maxxis/Lucky Locks Suzuki Jimny and extending their record-breaking run to four consecutive victories. The 180-kilometre overnight route touched all 11 parishes, crews battling tough terrain in driving rain and poor visibility during the hours of darkness.

Alleyne and O’Neal add to MudDogs Championship titles

Ben Norris and Kirk Watkins claimed their second victory of the 2019 Barbados Rally Club (BRC) Chefette MudDogs Safari Championship in last Sunday’s (October 20) final round, the Nassco October Safari, handing the island’s Toyota dealer a ‘home’ victory in their Land Cruiser. They finish the season second in the Driver and Navigator standings, just two points adrift of multiple Champions Leslie Alleyne and Chris O’Neal, who were the route-setters last weekend.

Patels win Class B in Shelbury Construction June Safari

Two new names were added to the Roll of Honour of the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) longest-running event at the weekend (June 29/30) when Ben Norris and Kirk Watkins won the Shelbury Construction June Safari. After a close overnight contest through all but one of the island’s parishes, Norris and Watkins (Toyota Land Cruiser) prevailed by 100 penalty points, bringing the number of winners to 73 since the event was first run in June 1957.
