Panton and Skeete share BRC Summer Sprint honours

Honours were shared in yesterday’s (Sunday) Double-Header Barbados Rally Club (BRC) Summer Sprint as the island’s leading competitors rejoined battle after the summer break. Dane Skeete won the first event running from Drax Hall to Ellesmere in St George, while Jamaica’s Jeff Panton won a very close battle in the reverse direction, with the top five covered by less than seven-tenths of a second.

Boodoosingh and T&T lead Radical Caribbean Cup

Kristian Boodoosingh of Trinidad & Tobago is the early leader of the 2023 Radical Caribbean Cup (RCC) after winning twice in the opening round at Bushy Park Barbados yesterday (May 14). While Mark Maloney of Barbados was the other race-winner, two podium finishes plus two fastest lap bonus points place Jamaican teenager Tommi Gore second in the standings on his debut in the series.

Corbin, Maloney and Wortman win ULTRAFEST Finals

Neil Corbin, Mark Maloney and Trinidad and Tobago’s Justin Wortman won the KnockOut Finals at the ULTRAFEST RallySprint yesterday (Saturday) at Bushy Park Barbados. The last three head-to-head races of more than 60 during the afternoon were run as the sun was setting and the venue’s all-arena lighting turned on, after which some of the island’s leading drag racers kept the crowd on their feet much later into the evening.

Jeffrey and Guyana win Radical Caribbean Cup titles

 

Guyana’s Kristian Jeffrey clinched the 2022 Radical Caribbean Cup (RCC) by a margin of just five points with what he later described as a “do or die effort” on Sunday (November 13), winning the final race of the season on the South Dakota Raceway. And there was a double celebration for the ecstatic home crowd, as Guyana won the inaugural Nations Cup, despite Barbadian brothers Stuart and Mark Maloney closing the gap to a single point with victories in the day’s first two races.

Jeffrey and Guyana lead Radical Caribbean Cup

Kristian Jeffrey of Guyana is the early leader of the 2022 Radical Caribbean Cup (RCC) after winning twice in the opening round at Bushy Park Barbados yesterday (July 10). Chief Instructor at the St Philip facility Justin Campbell was the other race winner, while Trinidad & Tobago’s Kristian Boodoosingh claimed three podium finishes in the tightest start yet for the regional series.

Maloney sets record, Walcott scores well as Bushy Park returns

A new Radical SR3 Qualifying Record set by Zane Maloney and good haul of points for Reigning Champion Andre Walcott in Bushy Park Motor Sports Inc’s (BPMSI) Group 1, the best-subscribed class of the day, were among the highlights of Sunday’s (August 30) VP Fuel Sales & Rock Hard Cement Race Meet. With the 1.28-kilometre National Circuit in use and Covid-19 safety protocols in place, a good turn-out of fans in the Clubhouse enjoyed an ideal vantage point with the entire lap in clear view.

Record-breaking Zane Maloney leads Radical Caribbean Cup

After two Free Practice sessions, Qualifying began without Trinidad & Tobago’s Zachary Boodram, whose car had developed engine problems which left him on the sidelines for the day. Mark Maloney was the first to complete a flying lap of 61.780s before 16-year-old Zane punched in the first sub-60s lap, then chipped away as the 10-minute session ran its course, breaking the Qualifying Record for a third time with an eventual 57.660s, more than half-a-second better than the previous mark set by his father Sean in 2018.

Gregg, Esuf and Walcott win big at Williams International

Jamaica’s Kyle Gregg, along with local drivers Suleman Esuf and Andre Walcott – all former Champion Drivers - were among the big winners at last weekend’s (August 31/September 1) Williams Industries International Race Meet at Bushy Park Barbados.
