ZANE MALONEY CONFIDENT AHEAD OF BRITISH F4 DECIDER

Barbados’ brightest motorsports talent Zane Maloney takes to the track at Brands Hatch this weekend for the final three rounds of the 2019 British F4 Championship, where the current points leader aims to secure a first single-seater title in his debut season of car racing.

After a challenging weekend at Silverstone which saw the highs of podium celebrations and the lows of an unfortunate non-finish, the BRDC Rising Star remains upbeat;

I feel really good going into the last round! I’m very confident that we can get the job done.

Everyone’s done an amazing job so far and it would be great to finish my first year in single-seaters with a bang.

Brands Hatch is a great track for me and I’ve been quick there in the past, so it’s just about having the same approach as usual. I think we can have a great weekend no matter the conditions.”

Maloney’s team Carlin Racing are no strangers to success in the British F4 Championship. British drivers Jamie Caroline (2017) and Lando Norris (2015) most recently brought home the overall title in Carlin blue colours, a tally both Zane and the team are pushing hard to top up this weekend.

Having secured the Rookie Cup title earlier in the season with a record-breaking spree of seven overall victories, Zane currently stands level on points (367) with rival Sebastian Alvarez, and 30 points clear of Louis Foster in third place (337).

The final race of the 2019 British F4 Championship will be televised live at 14:50 (BST) on Sunday 13th October, on ITV4 in the United Kingdom. Live timing is available throughout the weekend on the TSL Timing website.
