LINTON WINS SECOND DRIVER’S CHAMPIONSHIP

Barbados Rally Club (BRC) Champion of 2002 Adrian Linton claimed his second title on Sunday (October 22), when he clinched the Virgin Atlantic BRC Driver’s Championship in a last-round showdown with season-long rival Ian Warren in the Texaco BRC Gravel Rally; Linton is also the Modified 7 Champion.

MANNING WINS EVENT, BOURNE WINS TITLE

Trevor Manning returned to his winning ways on Sunday (October 22) when the Barbados Rally Club (BRC) staged the Texaco BRC Gravel Rally . . . but his victory was not enough to prevent Paul Bourne becoming the second Texaco BRC Rally Champion.
Although only 19 cars contested the year’s final rally, a quality entry provided some class action for the large numbers of spectators who lined the two five-kilometre stages at Yorkshire and Guinea, each run four times. The event started and finished at the Vaucluse Raceway, where a prize-giving rounded off the day’s proceedings.

BOURNE AND MANNING HEAD ENTRY LIST

Paul Bourne and Trevor Manning will go head to head for the last time this season when the Barbados Rally Club (BRC) stages the Texaco BRC Gravel Rally this Sunday (October 22); the deciding round of both the Texaco BRC Rally Championship and the Virgin Atlantic BRC Driver’s Championship, it will start and finish at the Vaucluse Raceway in St Thomas.

RAIN, RAIN GO AWAY!

Officials of the Barbados Rally Club (BRC) are working hard on plans to save next Sunday’s (October 22) final round of the Texaco BRC Rally Championship. The recent heavy rains, which have affected all corners of the island, have presented the organising team led by competition secretary Jonathan Still with some challenges.

LINTON AND WARREN DOWN TO THE WIRE

With one round remaining, just five points separate former Barbados Rally Club (BRC) Champion Adrian Linton and Ian Warren, who have been locked in battle for the Virgin Atlantic BRC Driver’s Championship since the opening round in March. Sixty drivers have competed so far and, while many Groups are already settled, the battle for the Overall Champion’s crown is going down to the wire.
