Gregg, Panton are Jamaican one-two in BCIC RB25

The Rally Barbados trophy is heading to Jamaica for the seventh time. Kyle Gregg, whose father Gary won the event 19 years ago, and Bajan co-driver Kreigg Yearwood celebrated a Jamaican one-two at the Vaucluse Raceway finish of BCIC RB25 on Sunday with Gregg’s fellow-countrymen Jeff Panton and Mike Fennell Jnr, whose run of four back-to-back victories had ended in 2018.

Floodlit start for record BCIC RB25 entry at Bushy Park

A record 122 cars from 14 countries will contest BCIC Rally Barbados (May 30-June 1), which starts under floodlights at Bushy Park in St Philip tomorrow evening (Friday). Last year’s winners Stuart Maloney and Kristian Yearwood are seeded at number one for the 35th edition of the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) premier event, which lists nearly 100 overseas drivers and co-drivers on the running order, published at last evening’s (Wednesday) Briefing Meeting at Savvy on the Bay, Bridgetown.

Maloney, Yearwood win First Citizens King of the Hill

Stuart Maloney and Kristian Yearwood in their Skoda Fabia RS Rally2 won First Citizens King of the Hill (KotH) on Sunday (May 25), the final shakedown before next weekend’s BCIC Rally Barbados (May 30-June 1). While it was their first KotH victory, Roger Mayers and Barry Ward (Toyota WR Starlet) were the top 2wd crew for the fourth consecutive year, extending the driver’s record total of wins to seven.

Skeete and Mayhew win First Citizens King of the Hill

Dane Skeete and Tyler Mayhew in their Subaru Impreza WRC S12 won First Citizens King of the Hill (KotH) on Sunday (May 26), the final shakedown before next weekend’s BCIC Rally Barbados (May 31-June 2). It was their second KotH victory – they also won in 2020 – while Roger Mayers and Barry Ward (Toyota WR Starlet) became the first crew to finish top 2wd three years in a row since the event first ran in 2008.

Stuart Maloney lays down marker for BCIC RB24

Stuart Maloney started his preparations for BCIC Rally Barbados (May 31-June 2) in determined fashion with victory on Sunday’s (April 28) BRC Shakedown Stages. Island fans turned out in their numbers for the first closed-road rally of the season, enjoying some first-class action in the second of two back-to-back rounds of the Barbados Rally Club Driver’s & Class Championships, although a high attrition rate left only 37 official finishers from the 61 starters.

Sol Rally Barbados 2023: closest finish for 20 years

New Zealanders Hayden Paddon and John Kennard won last weekend’s (June 9-11) Sol Rally Barbados 2023 after an epic battle with defending champions Dane Skeete and Tyler Mayhew. Lying second going into the last of 20 special stages, the Honda SuperSpecial at Bushy Park Barbados, the Kiwis turned a 1.2-second deficit into victory by just 0.88s, the smallest winning margin for more than 20 years.

Having claimed a debut victory in First Citizens King of the Hill last Sunday, New Zealanders Hayden Paddon and John Kennard are top seeds for the 33rd running of the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) premier event. Published by the BRC at last evening’s (Wednesday) Briefing Meeting at Mahogany Ridge, St Thomas, the entry list of 84 cars for this weekend’s Sol Rally Barbados 2023 includes drivers and co-drivers from 13 countries.
