FOUR ISLANDS SEND CARS FOR SOL RALLY BARBADOS

Island rally fans will enjoy their first chance to see one of the new overseas entries for Sol Rally Barbados 2010 in action this coming weekend, when Paul Horton from Turks & Caicos joins local crews for the Automotive Art Shakedown Stages on Sunday (April 25).

FAMOUS NAME MEHTA FOR SOL RALLY BARBADOS

Sol Rally Barbados 2010 (May 29/30), which marks the 20th Anniversary of the inaugural running of the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) International All-Stage Rally, is heading for a record in the number of women entered - the total is now close to 20, with one of the World Rally Championship’s most successful female competitors, Yvonne Mehta, bringing an internationally-recognised name to the event.

FEAST OF ACTION AT CHEFETTE APRIL SAFARI

Organisers of the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) Mud Dogs Safari Championship are promising a real feast of action for competitors and spectators alike when the second event in the calendar, the Chefette April Safari, runs off on Saturday (April 17).
Nearly 30 crews are entered, including reigning Champion Driver and Navigator Darrin White and Robert Warren (Flyin’ Fish/Lucky Locks Nissan Frontier), who were absent as competitors from the championship’s opening round, the ARMAG March Safari, as they had been the route-setters.

JACKMAN RETURNS FOR SOL RALLY BARBADOS

Nearly 10 years since he last competed on home soil, Bajan Dwane Jackman is returning from Canada for Sol Rally Barbados 2010 (May 29/30), which marks the 20th Anniversary of the inaugural running of the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) International All-Stage Rally. And he’ll be driving what he thinks should be “quite the package” for the Caribbean’s biggest annual international motor sport event.

MUD DOGS PREPARE FOR CHEFETTE APRIL SAFARI

Encouraged by the recent change in the weather, competitors in the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) Mud Dogs Safari Championship are looking forward to their second event, the Chefette April Safari, slated for Saturday, April 17.
The event will run between three of the sponsor’s most popular outlets, starting at Chefette Six Roads at 2.01pm; the stop over at approximately 6.30pm will be at Chefette Charles Rowe Bridge – competitors will enjoy dinner compliments of the sponsor – while the finish around five hours later will be at Chefette Warrens.

HALL IN EX-WORKS PUMA FOR SOL RALLY BARBADOS

Regular visitor Kenny Hall drove Zero Car on Saturday’s (April 3) Charterhall Stages in his native Scotland to shake down the ex-works Ford Puma in which he is aiming for a fourth Class win when he contests Sol Rally Barbados 2010 (May 29/30), which celebrates the 20th Anniversary of the inaugural running of the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) International All-Stage Rally.

WALLIS TO MARK 40TH AT SOL RALLY BARBADOS

BOURNE HAS TO WORK FOR SPRING GRAVEL RALLY WIN

Paul ‘Surfer’ Bourne extended his lead in the Virgin Atlantic Barbados Rally Club (BRC) Driver’s Championship with victory in Sunday’s (March 14) BRC Spring Gravel Rally, but he was made to work for it, after a stall on stage two cost him 30 seconds.
Co-driven by Stuart Maloney in the Banks/Chefette/LIME/Virgin Atlantic Ford Focus WRC07, carrying revised livery front and rear marking a new sponsorship deal with Chefette, Bourne started the day well: he was fastest by 7.3 seconds on the first of the 12 planned stages.
