GOOD ENTRY FOR BRC 4 x 4 SAFARI

Although the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) 2003 Drivers’ Championship is now complete, there is still one more competitive event to go, a chance to put aside the pressures of scoring points and enjoy the day. More than 30 assorted four-wheel-drive vehicles are expected to take part in the BRC 4 x 4 Safari on Saturday (November 22).

MAYERS/FERRI WIN ACTION-PACKED RALLY CLUB FINALE

The Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) 2003 Drivers’ Championship reached an action-packed conclusion in Sunday’s (November 16) Loose Stages Rally, won by Roger Mayers and Max Ferri in the Automotive Art/Shell Helix Ford Focus WRC.
In a day full of incident, there were strong performances throughout the field as drivers grasped their final chance of the year to score championship points.

RALLY CLUB WRAPS UP THE SEASON ON SUNDAY

The Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) 2003 season draws to a close on Sunday (November 16) with the BRC Loose Stages Rally, to be fought out over 11 stages at three venues in the parishes of St Thomas and St Peter.
The action starts at 8.00 am at the Vaucluse Raceway in St Thomas, which will also host the service area, lunch halt and finish.

An estimated 2,000 spectators assembled at the Black Bess Plantation in St Peter on Sunday (September 28) to witness Roger Mayers win the first loose event of the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) season in the Automotive Art/Shell Helix Ford Focus.

Ten of the island's fastest four-wheel-drive cars should provide excitement aplenty as the Barbados Rally Club (BRC) moves into the second half of its 2003 season with the BRC Loose Sprint, to be run at the Vaucluse Raceway on Sunday morning (August 24).

GILL LEADS BARBADOS RALLY CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP

Former Barbados Rally Club (BRC) champion Sean Gill is again in the driving seat at the half-way point in the club’s 2003 Drivers’ Championship, and he’s got there thanks to a perfect score on the recently-contested Rally Barbados.

ALLEYNE FAMILY CLAIM JUNE SAFARI

Husband and wife team Leslie and Annalee Alleyne added their names to the roll of honour of the island’s oldest motor sport event on Saturday (June 28), with victory in the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) June Safari; Timmy Mahon and Kirk Watkins finished equal third overall to win the event’s Novice Group.
Driving the Autozone/CITGO Mazda B2500, the Alleynes completed the two routes with only 100 penalties, beating another family crew – Biddy Barber and son Brett – into second place; they had collected 300 penalties in the Biddy’s Visitors Information Daihatsu Feroza.

SAFARI SUCCESS PROMISES PRIZES

Successful competitors in this weekend’s Barbados Rally Club (BRC) June Safari will be well-rewarded, following the donation of prizes by a number of local businesses keen to support the island’s longest-running motor sport event; this will be the 46th running of the event since its inception in 1957, when it was known as the June Rally.
