BOURNE MAKES IT FOUR OUT OF FIVE

Having slipped to fourth place mid-morning, reigning Champions Paul Bourne and Stuart Maloney fought back for a fourth win in this year’s Barbados Rally Club (BRC) Rally Championship on Sunday (October 19) in the Banks/Texaco/B-Mobile/Pirelli/New-Tech Subaru Impreza WRC S9.

BOURNE LOOKING TO MAINTAIN POINTS LEAD

Three victories in the first four rounds of the 2008 Barbados Rally Club (BRC) Rally Championship have given reigning Champion Paul Bourne a seven-point advantage, as competitors prepare for the season's penultimate event, Sunday's (October 19) BRC Gravel Rally.
Slated to start at 8.30am from the Searles Factory Yard in Christ Church, the event promises eight loose-surface stages, with four run in each direction, before the entire field heads for the grounds of the Sir Garfield Sobers Gymnasium, where the 2008 Barbados Motor Show will have reached its final day.

BOURNE SHAKES DOWN THE OPPOSITION

Reigning Champion Paul Bourne opened his 2008 account with victory in Sunday’s Automotive Art Shakedown Stages, the first round of the Barbados Rally Club (BRC) Rally Championship. With regular co-driver Stuart Maloney alongside in his Subaru Impreza WRC S9, he was fastest on all but one of the 11 stages, claiming victory by a comfortable margin of more than one minute.

BOURNE RETAINS RALLY CROWN

With a full house of eight fastest stage times in the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) final rally of the season last Sunday (October 21), Paul ‘Surfer’ Bourne confirmed his position as champion-elect of the 2007 Texaco BRC Rally Championship; he ends the year with 70 points, more than 30 ahead of his closest rival, to retain the title he won for the first time last year.

BOURNE WINS AT PICKERINGS

At the wheel of his BF Goodrich/Plus Subaru Impreza WRC, Paul Bourne dominated the time sheets once again on Saturday evening (July 28) when the Barbados Rally Club (BRC) made a successful return to Pickerings in St Lucy for its Summer Nights Tarmac Sprint.

BOURNE EXTENDS CHAMPIONSHIP ADVANTAGE

Victory in Sunday’s (April 22) Barbados Rally Club (BRC) Carnival Warm-Up Tarmac has given Paul Bourne a healthy lead in this year’s Texaco BRC Rally Championship; with co-driver Stuart Maloney in the Subaru Impreza WRC, Bourne was fastest on all but one of the nine stages run, winning by a margin of 25 seconds . . . and now leads the Championship standings by 12 points.

BOURNE LOOKING FOR SUCCESS IN ‘HOME’ EVENT

Paul Bourne in the Warrens Motors/Plus Subaru Impreza WRC heads the entry list for the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) Summer Nights Tarmac Sprint, to be contested on Saturday evening (July 29) at Cliff in St John . . . a speed event happening literally on his doorstep.
Eight Group winners from last month’s Rally Barbados 2006 are also listed among more than 20 entries received by mid-day Thursday; with entries not closing until that evening, and a late entry facility open until 5.00pm Friday, organisers were confident of a good turn-out.

BOURNE WINS RALLY SEASON OPENER

An enthusiastic crowd was on hand at the Black Bess Plantation in St Peter on Sunday (March 12) to witness the start of the 2006 rally season . . . and the return of Paul ‘Surfer’ Bourne to winning ways, as he claimed victory in the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) March Gravel Challenge.

BOURNE HEADS ENTRY LIST FOR SEASON-OPENER

Three Subaru Impreza World Rally Cars, including the 2003 Rally Barbados-winning example of Paul Bourne, will go head-to-head for the first time in the island on Sunday (March 12) when the Barbados Rally Club (BRC) stages the BRC March Gravel Challenge. Action at the Black Bess Plantation in St Peter is scheduled to start at 9.00am.

BOURNE, SKEETE, MAYERS AND MANNING DO BATTLE

Paul Bourne carries start number 1 for the Barbados Rally Club's (BRC) first Tarmac Rally of the season, which starts at 9.00am on Sunday (April 4) at the Vaucluse Raceway. The winner of last year's event, he faces a strong challenge from three of the island's front-runners.
The Banks/Havoline/Williams Industries/Pirelli Subaru Impreza WRC, with co-driver Luis Venezia, will be chased off the line by Roger Skeete and Dave Crawford (M9 Havoline/Michelin/McEnearney Quality Ford Escort WRC), who missed last year's event, waiting on spare parts.
