Sol Rally Barbados 2019 winner Dane Skeete celebrates the return to closed-road motor sport this weekend as number one seed for Sunday’s (August 23) HammerTime 20 at Cherry Grove in St John, jointly organized by the Barbados Rally Club (BRC) and Motoring Club of Barbados Inc (MCBI). The running order published today (Friday) reveals an entry of 28 cars, with nine in the four-wheel-drive classes the highest total in the island outside the Rally Barbados weekends since 2013.

Bushy Park comes alive as motor sport restarts

After three months of inactivity during the coronavirus Lockdown, Bushy Park Barbados has burst back into life . . . at least as far as the essential Covid-19 safety protocols will allow. Frustrated competitors from across the disciplines headed for St Philip over the past two Sundays (June 28 & July 5), as Bushy Park Circuit Inc (BPCI) organised Track Days for karts, race cars and rally cars.

Records fall as Esuf leads Radical Caribbean SR3 Cup

 After three victories in the six events of the third Radical Carnival at Bushy Park Barbados (January 27/28), Suleman Esuf is the early leader of the 2018 Radical Caribbean SR3 Cup. Sean Maloney, who established a new Qualifying Lap Record on Sunday, won twice to lie second in the standings, with brother Stuart third, after a string of second-place finishes.

Esuf and Gale win Suzuki Challenge Series titles

In a dramatic finale to the Suzuki Challenge Series during the Barbados Festival of Speed at Bushy Park on Saturday (October 14), Sol Esuf withstood huge pressure from Stuart Maloney in the double-points final to win back-to-back SR3 Cup titles. Despite finishing only third and fourth in the last two races, Barry Gale had done enough to lift the Swift Cup crown, as the Suzuki regulars raced under the new all-arena lighting for the first time and under the watchful eye of former F1 World Champion Jenson Button.

Record-breaking start for third Suzuki Challenge Series

The third Suzuki Challenge Series got off to a record-breaking start at Bushy Park Barbados at the Glassesco John ‘Tiny’ Harrison Memorial Race Meet, organised by Bushy Park Motor Sport Inc (BPMSI) over the weekend (May 6/7). Early leader of the SR3 Cup, reigning Champion Suleman Esuf, set new Qualifying and Race Lap Records  - and he’d lapped even faster in Practice - while Josh Read has edged ahead in the Swift Cup, the first time he has led the post-event standings.

Esuf and Wood win Suzuki Challenge Series titles

 Sol Esuf and Ryan Wood were crowned Champions of the SR3 Cup and Swift Cup respectively when the second Suzuki Challenge Series drew to a close during Radical International (January 28/29) at Bushy Park Barbados. Each driver had won his Summer Series title by a sufficient margin to claim the overall crown, despite failing to prevail in last weekend’s Winter Cup.

FIVE NATIONS FOR SUZUKI CHALLENGE SERIES FINAL

Suzuki Challenge Summer Series Champions Suleman Esuf (SR3 Cup) and Ryan Wood (Swift Cup) head to Bushy Park Barbados this weekend (January 28/29) for the Winter Cup determined to continue where they left off in October. They will have their work cut out, however, as Radical International 2017 plays host to competitors from five nations, all keen to make their mark.

Esuf and Wood Suzuki Challenge Series Summer Champions

Suleman Esuf and Ryan Wood were crowned Suzuki Challenge Summer Series SR3 Cup and Swift Cup Champion respectively, as the curtain came down on the second Summer Series. Racing under floodlights, occasional showers and the pressure of four races in one day made Sunday’s (October 30) Day/Night Race Meet at Bushy Park Barbados a fitting conclusion to this season’s events, with the Winter Cup to follow early next year.

Suzuki Challenge Series leaders Esuf and Wood ready for finale

Suzuki Challenge Series points leaders Suleman Esuf and Ryan Wood are ready to “push hard” at Bushy Park Barbados next Sunday (October 30) as a packed programme of day and night racing brings the SCS Summer Season to a close. The eight-hour programme, which starts at 2.00pm, also includes Bushy Park Motor Sports Inc (BPMSI) Handicap Races on two and four wheels and Dragwarz 3 action from the Barbados Association of Dragsters & Drifters (BADD).
