Global interest in BCIC Rally Barbados on the rise

The record-breaking performance of BCIC Rally Barbados last year further consolidated the reputation of the region’s biggest motor sport international as a “must-do” event for rally teams the world over. This was the message from Event Director Neil Barnard at today’s (Friday) BCIC RB26 Media Briefing at Bushy Park Barbados.

“Unfinished business” for Swann in Rally Barbados

Britain’s Rob Swann is aiming to deal with “unfinished business” at BCIC Rally Barbados 2026 (May 29-31). The last of his four second-placed finishes in the island’s premier event came in RB20 to the late Ken Block and he is bringing back the Ford Fiesta WRC that he drove that year, winning the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) 4wd Championship.

  His Fiesta is part of a second consecutive record-breaking consignment of rally cars from Europe – 38 this year, 35 in 2025 – which left Portsmouth on the south coast of England this morning (Monday) on the Geest Line freighter CS Quality.

Saab from the ‘60s a nod to history at BCIC RB26

Sixty years after it rolled out of the factory in Trollhättan, Sweden, a Saab 96 will face the starter at First Citizens King of the Hill (May 24) and BCIC Rally Barbados 2026 (May 29-31). This nod to the dominant rally cars of the past is crewed by Scottish couple Robin and Vanessa Hamilton, returning to compete in the island for the sixth time.

Youngster Ava Mayers rewrites BKA history books

With three race wins in the Easykart 60cc Cadet class in Sunday’s (April 26) third round of the 2026 Sectus Technologies Barbados Karting Association (BKA) Championship, 11-year-old Ava Mayers wrote her name into the BKA’s Roll of Honour.

  She was top 60cc raceday points-scorer, and overall too, the first female karter to achieve this in the Club’s 40-year history. While successful female racers have topped their class on raceday - Kayleigh Catwell did twice when she finished second to Calem Maloney in 100cc in 2018 – overall raceday top-scorer is a BKA female first.

Bruce looking for more wins in BKA round three

Aeden Bruce will be hoping to capitalise on his breakthrough victory in the Easykart 125cc class on Sunday (April 26) when the 2026 Sectus Technologies Barbados Karting Association (BKA) Championship resumes at Bushy Park Barbados. Round three is scheduled to start at 9.00am at the St Philip venue.

First Citizens King of the Hill moves to St Philip

The Barbados Rally Club (BRC) confirmed today (Thursday) that the First Citizens Group will be title sponsor of King of the Hill (KotH) for the fifth year. The event, which will run on Sunday, May 24, returns to a four-kilometre stage at the popular Stewarts Hill location in the south-east corner of the island for the fourth time.

Oceanside welcome for BCIC RB26 visitors at the Hilton

Hundreds of overseas visitors, many new to Barbados, will enjoy a spectacular welcome to the island when the Barbados Rally Club (BRC) hosts the Welcome Party for BCIC Rally Barbados 2026 (May 29-31) in Charles Fort at the Hilton Barbados Resort, the Club’s new Official Accommodation Partner.

  Ahead of the Welcome Party, the BCIC RB26 Briefing Meeting will be hosted in the Needham’s Ballroom, while the resort has also offered preferential rates on room categories to visitors linked to the event as a component of this new partnership.

BMF supports volunteers with training programmes
