Trevor 'Electric Micey' Manning (Quaker State/Simpson Motors/Pirelli/GFC Mitsubishi Evo V) emerged victorious from Sunday's (August 18) first loose-surface event of the Barbados Rally Club's (BRC) 2002 Autozone/LAW Motors Championship on a revised three-kilometre course at Black Bess in St Peter.

More than 30 drivers are on the provisional entry list for Sunday morning's (August 18) first loose-surface event of the Barbados Rally Club's (BRC) 2002 Autozone/LAW Motors Championship at the popular Black Bess venue. And, as a joint promotion with the Motoring Club of Barbados Inc (MCBI), the event looked set to attract yet more entries at Saturday afternoon scrutineering.

Skeete heads entry for Canefield speed event

Reigning Barbados Rally Club (BRC) champion Roger Skeete heads an impressive 32-car entry for Sunday's (April 28) third round of the 2002 Autozone/LAW Motors Championship, at Canefield.
Despite some damage suffered by his Texaco/McEnearny/Pirelli Ford Escort at the Vaucluse Raceway last Sunday, Skeete will face Paul Bourne in the Banks/Texaco/Williams Industries Subaru Impreza WRC and Richard Roett (Michelin/Massco/Esso/Roett's Garage Toyota Celica GT4) for honours in Group Modified 9.

Barbados Rally Club charity drive for Challenor children

The Barbados Rally Club (BRC) recently presented the Challenor Creative Arts & Training Centre in St. Thomas with a cheque for $10,000. The funds were raised at the nearby Vaucluse Raceway, when some of the island's top rally drivers offered motor sport fans passenger rides round the three-kilometre track.

Skeete fights the clock to be ready for Sunday

Reigning Barbados Rally Club (BRC) champion Roger 'The Sheriff' Skeete is fighting time to be ready for the club's second event of the year, this Sunday's (April 7) double-header at Sailor Gully and Pickerings, a joint promotion with the Motoring Club of Barbados Inc.

Rodriguez leads new Barbados Rally Club committee

Antonio Rodriguez was elected chairman of the Barbados Rally Club (BRC) at the club's Annual General Meeting on Thursday (March 21); he replaces Roger Skeete and returns to the position from which he resigned a year ago.
More than 50 club members attended the meeting, held at the Barbados Clay Target Association's clubhouse at Searles in Christ Church; voting for the club's officers and management committee was followed by lively discussion about the club's future in a meeting which lasted more than three hours.
