WARREN AND WHITE ARE 2009 MUD DOGS CHAMPIONS

Former Novice Champions Dustin Edwards and Ryan Corbin ended their Barbados Rally Club (BRC) Mud Dogs Safari Championship season on a high, winning the Nassco November Safari on Sunday (November 15) . . . and they brought a smile to the sponsor’s face as well, as they won in their Blockman/SDRR Hydraulics/Crane & Equipments Toyota Hilux!

FINAL SHOWDOWN FOR THE MUD DOGS

Competitors are making final preparations ahead of Sunday’s (November 15) Nassco November Safari, the fourth and final round of the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) Mud Dogs Safari Championship; more than 20 crews were entered by last night’s (Tuesday) Briefing Meeting, with none of the leading points-scorers missing.

RALLY CLUB COMPETITOR NUMBERS ON THE INCREASE

Nearly 80 drivers scored points in the 2009 Barbados Rally Club (BRC) Virgin Atlantic Driver’s and Class Championships, a 10 per cent increase on the previous year, and nearly double the number who scored in BRC events as recently as 2003; not only was there quantity, but quality, too, with both the Driver’s and Overall Class Champions settled at the final round, the latter decided by a tie-break.

Island rally fans, disappointed when a suspension problem prevented Roger Skeete’s participation in the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) recent Autumn Gravel Stages event, will finally get chance to see him in action on the loose in his Michelin/Da Costa Mannings Auto Centre/Warrens Motors Subaru Impreza WRC S12 this Sunday (November 1).

The 2009 Barbados Rally Club (BRC) Virgin Atlantic Driver’s and Class Championships reach their conclusion on Sunday (October 25) with the BRC Winter Rally . . . and the island’s fans are expected to turn out in their numbers for the 12-stage event, their last chance this season to see their heroes in action on home soil.

BOURNE’S FIRST GRAVEL WIN IN FOCUS

Paul Bourne and Stuart Maloney won the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) Autumn Gravel Stages in the Banks/LIME/Virgin Atlantic Ford Focus WRC07 on Sunday (October 18), moving one step closer to claiming the 2009 Virgin Atlantic BRC Driver’s Championship; in his first outing on the loose with the ex-works Focus, Bourne was fastest on all eight stages, building his advantage to nearly 30 seconds by close of play.

BOURNE, HILL, MANNING AND SKEETE LET LOOSE!

Many an internet forum argument will be settled – and a few more started, no doubt - when the island’s four leading car and driver combinations go head-to-head on Sunday (October 18) in the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) Autumn Gravel Stages, penultimate round of the Virgin Atlantic BRC Driver’s and Class Championships.
