Procter seeks elusive podium in Sol Rally Barbados

Marking the 20th Anniversary of his first trip to compete in the island, Britain’s Kevin Procter will return for Sol Rally Barbados next month with the Ford Fiesta S2000T in which he has finished fourth three times since 2017. Also confirmed today (May 2) are entries for Texas-based Scotsman Fraser Louden and fellow-Scot Ian Barclay, their Mitsubishi Evos bringing the entries in the four-wheel-drive classes to 20.

Dates confirmed for Radical Caribbean Cup 2023

The calendar for the fourth season of the Radical Caribbean Cup (RCC) confirmed today (Wednesday) includes two visits to Trinidad & Tobago for the first time. The Suzuki-powered Radical SR3 sports-racers, the fastest race cars in the region, will kick off the championship season at Bushy Park Barbados next month, with five rounds scheduled between May and November.

Sol Rally Barbados 2023 will start with a floodlit SuperSpecial at Bushy Park Barbados on Friday, June 9, it was revealed today (Tuesday). As the Barbados Rally Club (BRC) had already confirmed the daylight SuperSpecial and Rally Finish at the St Philip facility on the Sunday afternoon, today’s announcement completes the published details of the format for the 33rd running of its blue riband event.

First Citizens King of the Hill moves to new location

The Barbados Rally Club (BRC) confirmed today (Friday) that King of the Hill (KotH), the sprint used since 2008 to seed the running order for Sol Rally Barbados, will be staged at a new location this year, but with continued title sponsorship from First Citizens Group. To be staged on Sunday, June 4, the event returns to the east of the island, running on a 4.1-kilometre course from St Philip into St John.

Rallycross Champion O’Donovan for Sol Rally Barbados

Nearly three decades after he first entered, former British Rallycross Champion Ollie O’Donovan will finally get to compete in the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) blue riband event this year. He will drive a Hyundai i20 R5 run by island regular Andy Scott’s Albatec Racing outfit, alongside European Rally Championship leader New Zealander Hayden Paddon in a similar Hyundai and Scott’s own Ford Fiesta S2000T in Sol Rally Barbados 2023 (June 9-11), also King of the Hill the previous weekend.

Jamaica’s Kyle Gregg joins R5 class of 2023 in Barbados

Jamaican all-rounder Kyle Gregg, a title-winner on both racetrack and rally stage, has confirmed that he will contest a full season of rallying in Barbados this year in a new Ford Fiesta Rally2, which arrived in the island this week. His campaign will include Sol Rally Barbados 2023 and all other rounds of the R5 Rally Championship presented by First Citizens, which starts with the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) Shakedown Stages on Sunday, April 23.
