FARMER PLOUGHS ON FOR VICTORY

Lindsay Farmer and Megan Blades defeated all-comers – and some treacherous conditions – to win the final round of the Barbados Rally Club (BRC) 4 x 4 Navigational Championship on Sunday (November 13). Driving their rallynut.com-backed Suzuki Samurai, they completed the Toyota November Safari – one of few sporting events to go ahead last weekend – with 688 penalites, just two in hand over the second-placed crew.

MORE THAN 30 CREWS CHASE LAST-CHANCE POINTS

The final round of the Barbados Rally Club (BRC) 4 x 4 Navigational Championship – the Toyota November Safari – had attracted a healthy entry of 34 crews by the end of last night’s briefing meeting; and, with late entries being accepted until Thursday afternoon, the number may yet rise.
This Sunday’s (November 13) event is slated to start at 8.00am from the Windward Cricket Club in St Philip, following scrutineering at 7.00am . . . and there’s all to fight for over 100 kilometres of rough terrain.

The outcome of the Barbados Rally Club's (BRC) second 4 x 4 Navigational Championship will be decided on Sunday, November 13, when competitors face off for the final time this season in the Toyota November Safari.

CLEAN RUN AT BUSHY PARK GIVES HILL TITLE

After eight events spread across as many months, the 2005 Virgin Atlantic Barbados Rally Club (BRC) Driver’s Championship has been settled by just one point in favour of Roger Hill in the Mobil 1/Nassco/Motormac/Michelin Toyota Celica GT4.
The Toyota dealer emerged from last Sunday’s (October 16) final round at Bushy Park with a clean sheet, victory in the Modified 8 Group, plus the two bonus points as Group leader in each of the day’s two routes; dropping his lowest score of 10 left Hill with a total of exactly 100 points.

TEXACO DOUBLE WHAMMY FOR MAYERS BROTHERS

Rallying brothers Roger and Barry Mayers rounded off their most successful season to date with a double whammy in Sunday’s (October 16) fifth and final round of the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) 2005 Texaco BRC Rally Championship at Bushy Park in St Philip . . . but it wasn’t plain sailing for either sibling.

A last-minute rush of entries has set up a superb finale to the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) new-for-2005 Texaco BRC Rally Championship . . . thirty-six drivers were listed when entries closed, offering fans the prospect of a very special – and unusual - day of motor sport at Bushy Park in St Philip.

MALONEY TO RUN IN TEXACO FINALE AT BUSHY PARK

Bushy Park lap record-holder Mark Maloney is among members of the Barbados Auto Racing League (BARL) who have accepted an invitation from the Barbados Rally Club (BRC) to take part in the final round of the Texaco BRC Rally Championship at the St Philip venue on Sunday (October 16). Scheduled start time is 9.00am.

TIGHT AT THE TOP OF THE TABLE

It is not just the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) new-for-2005 Texaco BRC Rally Championship that will be decided at Bushy Park this Sunday (October 16). The BRC Driver’s Championship, which this year enjoys sponsorship from Virgin Atlantic Airways, is also yet to be resolved as it reaches its eighth and final round at the St Philip racetrack.

TEXACO BRC FINALE SWITCHES TO BUSHY PARK

Mindful of current concerns over the level of inconvenience caused to members of the public by road closures, officials of the Barbados Rally Club (BRC) have devised an exciting new format for the deciding round of the Texaco BRC Rally Championship, slated for a 9.00am start on Sunday, October 16.

NAVIGATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP CONTINUES

Competitors can expect another tough challenge when the Barbados Rally Club's (BRC) 4 x 4 Navigational Championship continues on Saturday, August 27. The third round of this popular championship - the August 4 x 4 Safari - will start and finish at the Vaucluse Raceway (VRW) in St Thomas.
With a demanding route set by three experienced competitors, Sean Gill, Harry Watkins and Kirk Watkins, the event is scheduled for a 2.00pm start, with competitors expected to complete the day back at VRW at around 10.00pm.
