Alleyne and O’Neal extend June Safari victory run

Leslie Alleyne and Chris O’Neal won last weekend’s (June 28/29) Chefette June Safari, amassing 1175 penalties in their POD Store/Maxxis/Lucky Locks Suzuki Jimny and extending their record-breaking run to four consecutive victories. The 180-kilometre overnight route touched all 11 parishes, crews battling tough terrain in driving rain and poor visibility during the hours of darkness.

Islandwide June Safari marks 68 years for Rally Club

Touching all 11 parishes, this weekend’s Chefette MudDogs June Safari (April 28/29) will present a stern challenge for crews as they mark the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) 68th Anniversary. The overnight event will cover a distance of 180 kilometres clockwise around the island and is scheduled to last just under 16 hours, celebrating the Club’s roots in navigational rallying.

Corbin and Thompson new leaders of BRC Championship

Edward Corbin and Kurt Thompson are the new leaders of the Barbados Rally Club (BRC) Driver’s Championship after a major shake-up of the standings following First Citizens King of the Hill (May 25) and BCIC RB25 (May 30-June 1). After a record local entry for the season’s two marquee events, rounds four to six of the BRC Championship, an unprecedented 80 drivers have now scored points.

Positive growth in Barbados Rally2 Championship

Seventeen drivers from the Caribbean and further afield have scored points in the 2025 Barbados Rally2 Championship ahead of the mid-season break. As the Barbados Motoring Federation’s (BMF) competition continues to deliver on its plans to expand, the title fight will resume at the Martinique Rallye Tour (July 24-27), the first round to be held in another regional territory.

Gregg, Panton are Jamaican one-two in BCIC RB25

The Rally Barbados trophy is heading to Jamaica for the seventh time. Kyle Gregg, whose father Gary won the event 19 years ago, and Bajan co-driver Kreigg Yearwood celebrated a Jamaican one-two at the Vaucluse Raceway finish of BCIC RB25 on Sunday with Gregg’s fellow-countrymen Jeff Panton and Mike Fennell Jnr, whose run of four back-to-back victories had ended in 2018.

Floodlit start for record BCIC RB25 entry at Bushy Park

A record 122 cars from 14 countries will contest BCIC Rally Barbados (May 30-June 1), which starts under floodlights at Bushy Park in St Philip tomorrow evening (Friday). Last year’s winners Stuart Maloney and Kristian Yearwood are seeded at number one for the 35th edition of the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) premier event, which lists nearly 100 overseas drivers and co-drivers on the running order, published at last evening’s (Wednesday) Briefing Meeting at Savvy on the Bay, Bridgetown.

Maloney, Yearwood win First Citizens King of the Hill

Stuart Maloney and Kristian Yearwood in their Skoda Fabia RS Rally2 won First Citizens King of the Hill (KotH) on Sunday (May 25), the final shakedown before next weekend’s BCIC Rally Barbados (May 30-June 1). While it was their first KotH victory, Roger Mayers and Barry Ward (Toyota WR Starlet) were the top 2wd crew for the fourth consecutive year, extending the driver’s record total of wins to seven.

Record smashed at First Citizens King of the Hill

More than 120 cars, 50 from overseas, are listed on the running order published today (Thursday) for First Citizens King of the Hill (KotH), smashing last year’s record of 98 by more than 20 per cent. Drivers and co-drivers from 14 nations will contest Sunday’s (May 25) final shakedown ahead of BCIC Rally Barbados 2025 (May 30-June 1), the 35th edition of the Barbados Rally Club’s premier event.

Record static display at Auto & Rally Show Saturday

The biggest-ever static display of competition cars the region has seen is the focal point of Saturday’s (May 24) Auto & Rally Show, which is open from 2.00pm to 6.00pm.
