Three tied for BRC Championship ahead of BCIC RB25

Three drivers share the lead in the chase for the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) 2025 Champion Driver crown ahead of the season’s two marquee events, First Citizens King of the Hill (May 25) and BCIC Rally Barbados (May 30-June 1). Each with a 100 per cent records of class wins in the first three rounds, Kevin Armstrong, Stuart Maloney and Rhett Watson are tied on 50 points.

Battle lines drawn for a tight 2wd fight in BCIC RB25

Six different drivers have won the coveted Top 2wd Trophy in the last six editions of the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) premier event, the toughest title to win, and BCIC RB25 could add a seventh name to that list in three weeks’ time. The opposition for the traditionally dominant local stars includes two-time European Rally Champion Simon Jean-Joseph and former American Rally Champion Barry McKenna.

McKenna changes to legendary Starlet for BCIC RB25

A late change of car confirmed late last night (Friday) for Ireland’s Barry McKenna has added extra spice to the much anticipated 2wd battle in BCIC RB25. The New York based former American Rally Champion has switched from the Volkswagen Polo GTi R5 he campaigned last year to fellow-countryman Declan Gallagher’s legendary Toyota Starlet.

BCIC Rally Barbados breaks all previous records

BCIC Rally Barbados 2025 is on course to break all previous records in local and regional rallying, with 126 crews on the provisional entry list published at a Media Briefing in the Open-Air Suites at Bushy Park Barbados on Thursday (May 8). Event Director Neil Barnard said: “Rallying in Barbados experienced real growth during 2024, but the overseas response to our event his year has been astonishing.”

Record shipment of rally cars heads for BCIC RB25

Thirty-five rally cars, the largest-ever single shipment from Europe heading to compete in Rally Barbados, left Portsmouth on the south coast of England early this morning (Monday) on the Geest Line freighter Lombok Strait. A group of 15 regular overseas participants had worked a lengthy 12-hour ‘shift’ on Sunday helping the dockside staff carefully load the precious cargo.

Shake-up for Rally2 Championship front-runners

Jamaica’s Jeff Panton, who won the Barbados Rally2 Championship in 2023, and reigning champion Josh Read will drive Ford Fiesta Rally2s for the rest of the season. Panton’s Skoda Fabia Rally2 evo has been sold to Suleman Esuf, who returns to the FIA R5 class, while confirmation of entries for Stan Hartling and son Ben further increases the record number in the category for BCIC Rally Barbados to 20.

Celebration time for overseas crews at BCIC RB25

As BCIC Rally Barbados 2025 approaches, some overseas teams are making final preparations to combine their participation in the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) premier event with the celebration of personal milestones, such as landmark birthdays. British BMW battalion gearing up for BCIC RB25

Led by Martin Stockdale, who will compete for a record 23rd time, four returning British crews confirmed today (April 19) bring to 36 the number of BMWs entered for BCIC Rally Barbados 2025. Stockdale’s son Tom is back for a second year, going head-to-head with his father in the Open Class, formerly Group B, while Cheryl Spencer and Simon Nutter have both joined the BMW ranks for the first time.

Emotional MudDogs win for Parravicino and Croney

Simon Parravicino and Andrew Croney won the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) April Safari on Sunday (April 13), round two of the 2025 Chefette MudDogs Safari Championship. They claimed the Audley Croney Memorial Trophy, named for navigator Andrew’s father, a long-standing member of the BRC and an enthusiastic and skilful competitor in navigational events.
