Circuit racing, spectators return to Bushy Park

Bushy Park Motor Sports Inc (BPMSI) will organise the first race meeting for more than two years on the full International Circuit at the St Philip facility on April 30 . . . and spectators will be welcome. The first round of the 2022 BPMSI Championship will cater for all the club’s usual saloon car Groups and the race programme will also feature three non-championship races for Radicals.

Mark Thompson is the BPMSI 2020 Champion Driver

Mark Thompson is Bushy Park Motor Sports Inc’s (BPMSI) 2020 Champion Driver. In a season shortened to two race meets by the coronavirus pandemic, he won Group 2/Class 1 in five of the six races in his Glassesco/NKM Clothing/Bio Beauty Toyota Starlet, his only DNF coming in the final race of the season. His year-end total was 118 points, beating Andre Walcott, twice the Champion Driver in the past three seasons, to the overall title by 27 points, with Stuart Maloney third, another 13 points in arrears.

Gregg, Esuf and Walcott win big at Williams International

Jamaica’s Kyle Gregg, along with local drivers Suleman Esuf and Andre Walcott – all former Champion Drivers - were among the big winners at last weekend’s (August 31/September 1) Williams Industries International Race Meet at Bushy Park Barbados.

Jamaican is Champion Driver elect with 100 percent win rate

Jeffrey Panton and Michael Fennell Jnr (Ford Focus WRC06) maintained their 100 percent win rate in the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) 2018 Driver’s and Class Championships in the final round on Saturday (November 24). Even before celebrating victory in the Tivoli Winter Rally, however, the Jamaican was quick to commiserate with Britain’s Rob Swann, whom Panton described as “the better driver today”.

Pope eases ahead in BPMSI Champion Driver title chase

Clubman 1 class-leader Jermin Pope has eased ahead of title rival Quincy Jones following an action-packed series of Bushy Park Motor Sports Inc (BPMSI) 2015 Championship races last Sunday (September 13). Frequent rain showers created challenging track conditions for competitors on both two and four wheels at the Williams Industries Digicel International Race Meet, at which C2 winner Adrian Bailey was crowned the day’s Champion Driver.
