Product prizes for successful crews Redlinefuels.com has stepped in to sponsor the September Safari, round four of the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) 2013 Chefette MudDogs Safari and Chefette MudDogs Safari Novice Championships, which is scheduled for Sunday, September 15.  Redlinefuels.com’s Barry Gale, who won the 2005 BRC Navigational Championship - the title back in the day - as Driver to Neil Barnard’s Navigator, said: “The initial sponsor was forced to pull out at the last minute.

Final preparations are being made island-wide for the longest event in the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) Chefette MudDogs Safari Championship, the Sol Go Further June Safari. The first of 25 crews will depart Sol Redman's Village at 3.01pm on Saturday (June 29) for an 18-hour test of endurance, which will take competitors to some of the island’s most scenic locations. Title sponsor of the BRC’s blue riband event, Rally Barbados, for the past six years, Sol first supported the June Safari in 2012, and has stepped up it’s commitment this year.

Mark Western and Robin Hinds won Saturday’s (April 13) Chefette April Safari by the smallest possible margin - one penalty point. The result was the closest finish in a navigational event since the Toyota November Safari of 2005, when they were also involved . . . but as the losers, by two points, to Lindsay Farmer and Megan Blades.   Aboard the Kar Parts Store/GWS/Esso Barbarees Hill/Yardman Nissan Patrol, Western/Hinds were trailing at the end of route 1, 69 penalty points behind Audley and Jeremy Croney (CC Motorsports Suzuki Vitara).

  For the second qualifying round of the 2013 season, the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) Chefette MudDogs Safari Championship returns to its roots: when the Club gave Championship status to its navigational events for the first time in March 2004, the opening event was set by Jason Downey and Richard ‘RC’ Daniel . . . and Downey returns to reprise his role for the Chefette April Safari on Saturday, April 13.   Being staged just four weeks since the March Safari launched the Championship’s 10th season, the second round looks set to keep competitors on their toes.
