CORBIN & EDWARDS WIN SEPTEMBER SAFARI

Novice crew Ryan Corbin and Dustin Edwards in the Corbin's Catering/Sweet Temptations Toyota Hilux beat some experienced practitioners in the art of navigational rallying to win the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) September Safari on Sunday (September 23).

QUALITY ENTRY FOR SEPTEMBER SAFARI

As the front-runners in the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) Safari Championship all look forward to the chance of scoring more vital points in this weekend’s third round (Sunday, September 23), those responsible for running the Championship are equally delighted with the growing support for these navigational events that hark back to the Club’s roots.

CLOSE CONTEST IN SAFARI CHAMPIONSHIP

Since the media release issued yesterday under the above heading, the decision has been made to postpone the August Safari until the weekend of September 22-23 . . . thereby making it the BRC September Safari. The briefing meeting mentioned for tomorrow evening (August 21) will now take place on Tuesday, September 18.
The key reason for the change is that, due to the recent heavy rains island-wide, some areas of the route, which had already been set, are now virtually impassible, or no longer thought to be safe due to slippage.

CLOSE CONTEST IN SAFARI CHAMPIONSHIP

With two rounds run and two to go, no-one is taking bets on the outcome of the Barbados Rally Club (BRC) Safari Championship, which continues with the August Safari next weekend. Reigning Champion Andrew Croney leads the Navigator standings by just two points, Derek Gill enjoying the same advantage in the Driver standings.

BARNARD LEADS DRIVER’S CHAMPIONSHIP

Thanks to a perfect score over the two weekends of the seventh annual Barbados Rally Carnival in May, Neil Barnard has grasped the overall lead of the Virgin Atlantic Barbados Rally Club (BRC) Driver’s Championship after five of the eight rounds . . . but he will have his work cut out to retain his advantage between now and year-end.

McCONNEY AND MOSELEY WIN JUNE SAFARI

Navigator Tyrone Moseley added his name to the list of 63 previous winners of the region’s oldest motor sport event on Sunday (June 10), when he and driver Philip McConney – winning ‘the June’ for the second time – emerged victorious in the Esso Courtesy Garage 50th Anniversary June Safari, the last event in the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) month of celebrations marking its half-century.
