ARMSTRONG AND CLARKE WIN SHELBURY SAFARI

Winners of the opening round of the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) 2012 MudDogs Safari Championship back in March, Chris Armstrong and Wayne Clarke (Toyota Hilux), added a second victory to their tally on Sunday (September 16), when they defeated all-comers - and the elements - in the Shelbury Construction September Safari.

MUDDOGS ON THEIR WAY TO A CENTURY

The total number of participants in the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) 2012 MudDogs Safari Championship and the Chefette MudDogs Safari Novice Championship is fast approaching 100, with six new names included on the entry list published today for Sunday’s (September 16) fourth of five rounds, the Shelbury Construction September Safari.

MUDDOGS PREPARE FOR SEPTEMBER SAFARI

After a three-month summer break, the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) off-roaders are fettling their machines in readiness to rejoin battle in the MudDogs Safari Championship and the Chefette MudDogs Safari Novice Championship. The fourth of five rounds for the season is the September Safari on Sunday, September 16.   With two rounds to go, the winners of the season’s opening event, the Chefette March Safari, Chris Armstrong and Wayne Clarke, respectively lead the overall Driver and Navigator standings, with Ryan Corbin and Dustin Edwards just two points behind.

RECORD EQUALLED AT SOL GO FURTHER JUNE SAFARI

Leslie Alleyne claimed a record-equalling fifth victory in the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) longest-standing event, when he won the Sol Go Further 55th Anniversary June Safari at the weekend (June 23/24). Meanwhile, his Navigator in the Simpson Motors Isuzu D-Max, Chris O’Neal, added the 69th name to the roll of honour of the region’s oldest motor sport event with a continuous history.

SOL GO FURTHER BACKS ANNIVERSARY JUNE SAFARI

The Sol Group has expanded its partnership with the Barbados Rally Club (BRC), just days after the record-breaking success of Sol Rally Barbados. During a well-attended product launch this evening (June 21), it was confirmed that this weekend’s running of the Club’s longest-standing event will be titled the Sol Go Further 55th Anniversary June Safari (June 23/24).

MUDDOGS SET FOR 55TH ANNIVERSARY JUNE SAFARI

With the dust barely settled after the record-breaking success of last weekend’s Sol Rally Barbados 2012, the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) blue riband event, preparations are in high gear for the 55th Anniversary June Safari. Taking the Club right back to its roots in navigational rallying, the event runs off over the weekend of June 23/24.   The successful running of the first June Rally on June 16, 1957 was the catalyst to the founding of the BRC, and it remains the oldest-established motor sport event in the region with a continuous history.
